Close Project
The Close command ends the current project session while keeping Volvicon running. Use this when you want to switch to a different project or reset the workspace without exiting the application.
How Close Works
When you click Close:
- Volvicon asks Are you sure you want to close current project?
- Answering Yes clears the scene and unloads every object from memory.
- The scene orientation returns to the Standard preset, so the next project starts from a known state.
- The backstage stays open, ready for you to open or create the next project.
Answering No leaves the project exactly as it was.
After closing you can:
- Open an existing project via File → Open
- Create a new project via File → New
- Exit Volvicon via File → Exit
Workflow: Closing a Project
- Click File to open the backstage, or press
Ctrl+Wfrom the workspace. - Select Close from the navigation panel.
- Answer Yes at the confirmation prompt.
- The workspace clears and the backstage returns to its Home page.
The Confirmation Prompt
The prompt carries a Do not show this message again check box. Ticking it and answering Yes means later closes happen immediately, with no prompt at all. The setting is stored per user and applies to every project.
The confirmation asks only whether to close. It does not offer to save first, and it does not warn that there are unsaved changes: answering Yes discards everything not already written to disk, and that cannot be undone.
Save with Ctrl+S before closing. This matters most once Do not show this message again is ticked, because from then on Close clears the project with no prompt whatsoever.
Exiting the application is different. File → Exit, and the window close button, do ask Do you want to save changes to <project name>? with Yes, No, and Cancel, so unsaved work is offered a chance to be saved there.
When to Use Close

Close vs. Exit

Use Close when you plan to continue working in Volvicon with a different project. Use Exit when you are finished with your session.
