Default Shortcuts

This page lists all default keyboard and mouse shortcuts in Volvicon. Shortcuts are grouped by the area or tool where they apply.

View-specific shortcuts

Shortcuts for the 3D View and each Slice View are only active when that view has focus. Click inside the view first to activate it, then use the shortcuts.


Global Shortcuts

These shortcuts work anywhere in the application.

Scene Tree

These shortcuts are active when the Scene Tree panel has focus.

Active View Layout Controls

These shortcuts are active only when a 3D or slice view has focus.

Scripting Editor

These shortcuts are active when the scripting editor has focus.

Ctrl+SSaves the current script to file. Only works when the scripting editor is focused; otherwise it triggers the global save action.

AI Assistant

Open the AI Assistant panel with the title-bar button or the shortcut below. The message and text-size shortcuts are active when the panel has focus.

Text Size (conversation and message box)

The chat text size is shared by both areas, is separate from the application font size (File → Preferences → User Interface), and is remembered between sessions. It can be changed from either the conversation or the message box.

Slice Views (2D Views)

Click inside a Slice View to give it focus before using these shortcuts. Shortcuts marked "all Slice Views" apply to every Slice View when that shortcut is triggered.

Segmentation — Edit Mask

These shortcuts are active when the Edit Mask tool is open (Segmentation tab → Edit Mask).

Segmentation — ROI Selection Tools

These shortcuts apply when a selection-based ROI tool is active (for example, Rectangle, Polygon, Lasso, or Circle in Edit Mask or other segmentation tools).

Surface — Selection and Editing Tools

These shortcuts are active when surface selection tools are in use (Surface tab editing tools that use ROI selection, such as Cut or Editor).

Image — Masking Tool

These shortcuts are active when the Masking tool is open (Image tab → Masking).

3D Drawing and Placement Tools

These mouse interactions apply when a 3D interactive drawing tool is active in the 3D View (for example, when placing primitives, drawing measurement shapes, or using surface creation tools).

note

In all 3D drawing tools, holding Alt while pressing the left mouse button temporarily suspends the tool and performs standard camera rotation instead.

Measurements — Markup Tools

These interactions apply when a measurement markup is being placed (Measure tab).

Distance Measurement

Point Picking

The point picking shortcut is available in tools that require a reference point, such as ROI creation, Surface Transform, and Engrave Text (Surface tab).

Snapshots

These shortcuts are active when the Snapshots panel has focus in the Export PDF Report dialog (Measure tab → Statistics Tools → Export... (PDF Report) → Snapshots tab).
