License Tiers
Volvicon uses a tier-based licensing model. Features are unlocked based on your license tier rather than individual feature toggles.
Tier Overview

Volvicon is NOT a medical device and has no regulatory certifications (FDA, CE, etc.). The software is NOT intended for clinical use. Medical editions are reserved for future development and are not currently available.
License Options
Deployment Models

| Node-locked | Licensed to one computer using its hardware key |
| Floating (network) | Shared concurrent seats across authorized workstations, enforced by Volvicon's hosted licensing service |
Floating licenses are available for organizations that need flexible use across laboratories, classrooms, or shared workstation groups. The purchased seat count determines simultaneous use. Contact sales to confirm eligible tiers, seat counts, and deployment terms.
Subscription Licenses
Annual subscription licenses include:
- Full software access for the subscription period
- All software updates during subscription
- Technical support according to license tier
- Automatic renewal (can be disabled)
Perpetual Licenses
Perpetual licenses include:
- Unlimited use of the purchased version
- One year of software updates and support
- Optional maintenance renewal for continued updates
Add-On Modules
Separately licensable modules can be added to any license tier:

Purchase Process
- Select Edition: Choose the tier that matches your feature requirements
- Choose License Term: Subscription or perpetual
- Choose Deployment: Node-locked or floating
- Request Quote: Contact sales for enterprise, floating, or volume pricing
- Purchase: Complete purchase through our online store or purchase order
- Receive License: License file delivered through the portal or by email
- Activate: Apply or deploy the license in Volvicon (see License Guide)
Volume Licensing
For organizations requiring multiple licenses:
- Volume discounts available for 5+ licenses
- Floating licenses with a selected number of concurrent seats
- Custom site-license terms for qualifying organizations
- Educational institution pricing

Payment Terms
- Individual licenses: Payment due at purchase
- Enterprise orders: Net 30 days with approved credit
- Academic institutions: Purchase order accepted
License Transfer
- Licenses are non-transferable unless explicitly authorized
- Contact support for hardware changes or license migration
Upgrades
- Tier upgrades available at prorated pricing

- Upgrades preserve remaining subscription time
